The organizers of the 2026 International Conference on Advanced Visual and Signal-Based Systems (AVSS) are pleased to invite proposals for workshops to be held in conjunction with the main conference. AVSS 2026 will take place in the beautiful baroque city of Lecce, Italy. Workshops will be held on August 31, 2026, the day before the main conference program begins (September 1-3). They aim to explore in-depth specific challenges and emerging topics in visual and signal-based systems, fostering a dynamic environment for discussion and community building. We encourage the submission of workshop proposals on new, interdisciplinary, or application-oriented topics that bridge advances in multimedia and signal-based systems research with other research areas.
We welcome proposals on all topics related to visual and signal-based systems. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
* Sensor-Centric Topics: Smart Cameras, Deep Learning at the Edge, Multi-modal Sensors, IoT for Surveillance.
* Processing-Centric Topics: Action & Activity Recognition, Anomaly Detection, Person & Object Re-identification, Multi-target Tracking, Biometrics, Deep Learning for Surveillance.
* System-Centric Topics: UAV-based Systems, Autonomous Systems, Large-Scale Monitoring Systems, Crowd Analysis, Privacy-Enhancing Technologies, AI Ethics.
* Application-Centric Topics: Urban Mobility & Traffic Management, Security and Public Safety, Behavioral Analysis, Industrial Surveillance, Maritime & Aerial Monitoring Systems.
Each workshop will operate its own peer review process, managed by the organizers. Submitted papers must conform to the conference’s style, format, and length requirements (see author kit). If workshop organizers wish to have papers of their workshops included in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library as part of the ICIAP 2026 Satellite Workshop Proceedings, the review process should follow the main conference’s peer-review standards.
Workshop proposals should be submitted as a single PDF file (max 4 pages) to the Workshop Chairs via email. The proposal should contain the following sections:
1. Title and Acronym: A concise and informative name for the workshop.
2. Abstract: A brief paragraph (up to 200 words) summarizing the workshop's theme and goals, suitable for the conference website.
3. Topics and Relevance: A detailed description of the workshop's topics, its relevance to the AVSS community, and why the workshop is timely.
4. Workshop Format: Planned format (e.g., full day, half day), including a tentative schedule outlining sessions for invited talks, poster presentations,
panels, and discussions.
5. Organizing Committee: Names, affiliations, and short biographies of the organizers, including their expertise in the proposed topic and prior experience in organizing workshops or conferences.
6. Program Committee: A tentative list of PC members (if available).
7. Publicity Plan: A brief plan for publicizing the workshop and attracting submissions.
8. Past History (if applicable): If a previous edition of the workshop was held, please provide details on the number of submissions, acceptances, and attendees.
9. Anticipated Attendance: An estimated number of submissions and participants.
10. Special Requirements: Any special logistical or technical requirements (e.g., poster boards, audio/video needs).

* The AVSS 2026 organizing committee will provide logistical support, manage registration, and allocate meeting space for the workshops.
* Workshop organizers are responsible for setting up their own workshop website, coordinating the call for papers, managing the paper review process, and creating the final workshop program.
* For the workshop proceedings to be published by IEEE, organizers must ensure that all accepted papers meet quality standards and adhere to the publication schedule.
